SYRACUSE, N.Y. -Â Syracuse women's basketball (14-5, 3-3 ACC) hosts Virginia (10-9, 3-3 ACC) in a 2 p.m. tip-off on Sunday at the Carrier Dome.

STRONG START TO '13-14
• Syracuse went 11-2 in its non-conference schedule, the seventh time in program history the Orange was 11-2 or better after 13 games.
• An aggressive non-conference schedule, paired with a challenging start to the ACC slate has helped the Orange achieve a No. 16 ranking in the latest official NCAA RPI ratings, released on Jan. 20.
• Currently, RealTimeRPI ranks Syracuse No. 16, while the Sagarin/CBN Ratings also have it 16th with the No. 8 strength-of-schedule in the country.

AN ORANGE WIN WOULD...
• ...be its first three-game ACC winning streak.
• ...guarantee SU its seventh-straight winning regular season under head coach Quentin Hillsman.
• ...make SU 2-3 all-time against Virginia and 1-1 vs. the Cavaliers at the Carrier Dome.
• ...make SU 10-1 at home this season and 23-2 over the last two seasons.

SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse is 1-3 all-time against Virginia, but its one win came in the last meeting.
• On Nov. 24, 2012, Elashier Hall made two free throws with .4 seconds left to give Syracuse a thrilling 74-73 victory vs. Virginia in the San Juan Shootout, completing an ACC sweep for SU after beating Georgia Tech the day before. Kayla Alexander scored 13 of her team-high 18 points in the second half to fuel the Orange comeback. The senior center also led the Orange with nine rebounds and four blocks. Hall finished with 17 points. Sarah Imovbioh led Virginia with 20 points and seven boards.
• UVA beat SU in the Carrier Classic at the Carrier Dome, 84-61, on Dec. 29, 1985. The Cavaliers also have two wins in Charlottesville: on Dec. 5, 1987 (87-50) and on Dec. 30, 1999 (70-59).

DOME SWEET DOME
• SU has a record of 85-33 (.720) in 118 games in the Carrier Dome since moving there full-time in 2006-07, including a 9-1 mark this season as it has outscored its opponents by an average of 23.4 ppg (82.6-59.2).
• SU went 13-1 at home last season, tied for its best home winning percentage in program history. The Orange also went 13-1 in 1987-88.

IN THE POLLS
• Syracuse is receiving votes in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll this week. It was previously ranked for five straight weeks in the AP poll and a total of three weeks in the coaches poll this season.
• The Orange was ranked an all-time program high 20th in the Dec. 23 and Dec. 30 AP polls. It was as high as No. 23 in the coaches poll four weeks ago.
• The Orange debuted in the AP poll on Dec. 2 at No. 22 and was ranked for four-straight weeks.

LAST TIME OUT
• An 18-0 second-half run lifted Syracuse past Clemson (9-11, 1-5 ACC), 84-75, on Thursday night at the Carrier Dome. Brittany Sykes scored 15 and Taylor Ford tallied 11 in the second stanza to aid in SU's comeback efforts.
• Ford contributed 19 points and a career-high eight offensive boards while Sykes finished with 19 points. Shakeya Leary recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds and Brianna Butler rounded out double digit scorers with 16 points.
• The Orange shot 40 percent overall. SU held Clemson to 38.7 percent from the floor and just 20 percent from beyond the arc in the second half after the Tigers shotc 66.7 percent in the first. SU turned 23 offensive rebounds into 25 second-chance points.

MASTER THIEVES
• With an aggressive fullcourt press and trapping defense, the Orange boasts the best turnover margin in the ACC (17th nationally) at +5.6 and has produced an average of 22.7 points per game this season off its opponents' 19.9 turnovers per game.
• In its last game, SU scored 26 points off 22 Clemson turnovers.
• In its three wins at the Paradise Jam, the Orange forced at least 20 turnovers by its opponents each game.
• Syracuse scored 53 points off 31 turnovers in its 113-42 win vs. Maryland Eastern Shore. SU totaled 18 steals by nine different players.

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
• Also aiding the ACC-best turnover margin is the fact that Syracuse has turned the ball over fewer times than any team in the ACC at 14.3 per game.
• SU surrenders just 14.5 ppg off its turnovers, resulting in a +8.2 margin in points per game off turnovers.
• Brianna Butler boasts the best assist-to-turnover ratio on the team, 43-to-17.
