'Cuse Sprinters Open Outdoor Schedule

ATLANTA—The Syracuse track and field team finished competition at the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted by Georgia Tech, on Saturday evening, setting six personal and one school record in its first meet of the outdoor season. Only the sprinting corps traveled to the ACC foe's race.
The women's 4x100 meter relay team, made up of Sabrina Cammock, Bria Goodson, Rebecca Robinson and Shaina Harrison, set a new school record with their time of 45.37 seconds, good for a fifth-place finish in the race.
Regine Hunter was the top individual performer, taking first place in the triple jump with a personal best distance of 12.71 meters. Freddie Crittenden had the best finish on the men's team, taking second place in the 110-meter hurdles in 13.97.
Donald Pollitt finished in third place in the 110-meter hurdles, also with a time of 13.97 seconds while Darren McCluskey, Franklin Taylor and Trevor Johnson finished in fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively.
Cammock had two personal records on Saturday, finishing in a team-best ninth place in the 100-meter (11.82) and 11th in the 200-meter dash (24.68). Harrison and Ashley Keyes also had career marks in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 14th (24.90) and 23rd (25.40), respectively.
Pollitt ran the fastest 200-meter dash of his career, finishing in 21.14 seconds for eighth place. Jaquan Holland finished 11th in the same event with a time of 21.51. He was the only Orange to run in the men's 100-meter dash, taking eighth place in 10.60.
In the field events, Taylor finished in fifth place in the long jump with a leap of 7.07 meters while Reggie Morton took seventh place with a mark of 6.91 meters.
The men's 4x100 meter, made up of Morton, Holland, McCluskey and Pollitt took third place with a time of 41.38 seconds.
The team will split between three races next weekend, with members travelling to the Florida Relays, the Stanford Invitational and the Sam Howell Invitational, hosted by Princeton, on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.
