Orange No. 2 Heading into NCAA Tournament Play

The Syracuse field hockey team is No. 2 in this week's NFHCA poll after falling to new No. 1 North Carolina in Sunday's ACC title game.
The Orange, which earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, collected 780 points and 21 first-place votes, six points behind the Tar Heels, who garnered nine first-place votes.
UConn (749 points, 11 first-place votes), Virginia (671 points, one first place vote) and Maryland (621 points) rounds out the top-five.
All-seven ACC squads are represented in the NCAA Tournament field and rank in the top-11 nationally.
Syracuse will begin NCAA Tournament play on Saturday, Nov. 14 when the Orange hosts the winner of Kent State and No. 20 UMass' play-in game. Syracuse will also host a second first round game between No. 5 Maryland and No. 16 Princeton at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with the winners of each game squaring off at 2 p.m. on Sunday for a berth in the final four.
Tickets are available at the door only at $6 for adults and $3 for youth. Gates will open at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday. There will also be designated parking for field hockey patrons in the Manley North Lot, which is on the Comstock Ave. side of the building.
