Orange Earn Top-Seed in the NCAA Tournament
-Â Syracuse was named the No. 1 overall seed in the 2015 NCAA Tournament and will host the first two rounds of the tournament.
- The Orange will face No. 20 UMass in the NCAA Tournament first round after the Minutewomen defeated Kent State 1-0 in Wednesday's play in game. That game will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
- Coyne field will also play host to No. 5 Maryland and No. 16 Princeton in a first round matchup at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with the winners of each matchup playing at 2 p.m. on Sunday for a trip to the final four.
Ticket and Parking Information
-Â Tickets for each day are $6 for adults and $3 for youth and can only be purchased at the main gate of J.S. Coyne Stadium.
- There will be a free parking area designated for field hockey patrons in the Manley North Lot (the Comstock Ave entrance to the athletics complex) for Saturday's contests only due to the football game. Parking will remain free in both the Manley North and Manley South lots on Sunday.
Syracuse in the NCAA TournamentÂ
-Â The Orange is 12-10 all-time in the NCAA tournament and has now reached the tournament in eight straight seasons.
- Syracuse's appearance in last year's championship game was its first in program history. 'Cuse has reached the Final Four on two other occasions (2008, 2012).
- Seniors Alyssa Manley and Emma Russell have each played in eight career NCAA Tournament games. Russell leads current Orange with five career tournament points (2 goals, 1 assist), while Manley ranks second with four (1 goal, 2 assists).Â
-Â Senior goalkeeper Jess Jecko has five career NCAA Tournament appearances for the Orange. Holding down the net for the Orange, Jecko has 20 career saves and has allowed just seven goals in tournament play.
- Sophomores Laura Hurff and Lies Lagerweij have also contributed points for the Orange in recent NCAA postseason play. Lagerweij has one goal in her four career games in the tournament, while Hurff has an assist in the same amount of gametime.
- Juniors Serra Degnan and Liz Sack and sophomores Erin Gillingham and Allie Manheimer have also seen the field in past NCAA Tournament games.
ACC Honors
- The Orange swept the ACC Field Hockey postseason awards, marking the first time since 1994 that a team swept the four major awards.
- Senior midfielder Alma Fenne earned the ACC Offensive Player of the Year honor, having led the team with 33 points and 13 goals. Fenne has been a force for the Orange as of late, scoring nine of her goals in October's seven regular season games. 4Senior midfielder Alyssa Manley was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year for her contributions to an Orange defense that was the second-best scoring defense in the country for the regular season. In 16 games, the 'Cuse defense allowed just 13 goals, the best mark in the ACC. 4An immediate impact for the Orange in just her freshman year, back Roos Weers was recognized as the ACC Rookie of the Year, having matched Fenne's team-leading 33 points and 13 goals. A vital piece of Syracuse's back line, Weers also earned two ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors during the season. 4Following an undefeated, 16-0 regular season, head coach Ange Bradley was named ACC Coach of the Year, marking her seventh conference coach of the year award. 4Fenne, Manley, and Weers were all first team ACC selections, with Manley's recongition being the third in her career. Seniors Jess Jecko and Emma Russell and sophomore Laura Hurff were named to the All-ACC Second Team.
'Cuse vs. #20 UMassÂ
-Â SU is 18-7-1 all-time against the Minutewomen in a series that has been played 22-straight seasons dating back to the 1994 season and including this year's meeting.
-Â Most recently, the Orange defeated UMass 6-4 on Nov. 1, 2014. 4This is the 12th time UMass has played at Syracuse with the Orange owning an 10-1 all-time record at J.S. Coyne Stadium vs. UMass. Syracuse has played 14 times at UMass and one neutral site game in the series.
-Â Senior Emma Russell has a three goals and two assists for eight points aginst UMass to lead the current 'Cuse scoring efforts against Umass in her career. Fellow Senior Alyssa Manley is next, she has six career points on one goal and four assists in five games against the Minutewomen. Senior Alma Fenne has four points on a goal and two assists, all came in this season's matchup, while Lies Lagerweij had a two-goal game as a freshman against UMass last season. Laura Hurff (one assist) and Roos Weers (one goal) each scored this season against UMass.
-Â Jess Jecko has started three games against UMass in her career, allowing one goal over 70 minutes in 2013, and two goals over 66:40 in 2014, and shutting out the Minutewomen this year, making two saves.

-Â The Orange have faced off with 10 of the 17 other teams in the NCAA Tournament field, holding an 11-1 record in 12 match-ups against them.
-Â Syracuse has outscored fellow NCAA Tournament teams 38-14 this season. - Midfielder Alma Fenne leads the Orange with 24 of her 35 points coming against NCAA Tournament teams. 23 of Roos Weers' 35 points this season have come against tournament teams, while 19 of Emma Russell's 26 have as well.
