Orange Hosts Seattle in NCAA Third Round Sunday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. –  For the first time in program history, No. 6 Syracuse will an NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament third-round match when it takes on No. 13/11 Seattle on Sunday, November 29. Opening whistle is set for 1 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth ages 18 and under. The first 400 Syracuse University students will received free admission, compliments of head coach Ian McIntyre and the Department of Athletics. Students must claim their free tickets by 12:45 p.m. Fans can also watch the match on Cuse TV on Cuse.com.

SCOUTING THE ORANGE (14-5-3)
Syracuse, the No. 6 seed in the tournament, defeated Dartmouth, 2-1, last weekend at the SU Soccer Stadium. It marked the Orange's third consecutive victory in the second round. Syracuse is 0-1-1 in the Sweet 16.

Junior Ben Polk scored his team-leading 11th goal of the year against the Big Green. He and sophomore Julian Buescher are tied for the team lead in points with 26 apiece. Buescher assisted on both goals against Dartmouth, increasing his team-best total to 10. He now ranks fourth on Syracuse's record list for most assists in a season.

The Orange had its shutout streak snapped against Dartmouth. The Big Green scored in the 30th minute. It was the first goal Syracuse had allowed in more than 245 minutes of action and marked the first time the Orange had trailed since the season finale on Oct. 30.

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS (18-3-1)
Seattle defeated 2014 national runner-up UCLA, 1-0, to advance to the third round. The Redhawks, the No. 11 seed in the tournament, are tied for the most wins in the nation and enter Sunday's match with an 18-3-1 record. Seattle is one of the highest-scoring teams in the nation with 123 points. David Olsen leads the way with 31 points, which tie him for sixth in the country. In addition, Hamza Haddadi and Michael Roberts have each posted 22 points this season. Goalkeeper Shane Haworth has started 15 matches in goal for the Redhawks. He has a 0.68 goals-against average and a .800 save percentage.

Syracuse and Seattle will meet for the first time on Sunday.
