
Orange Sweep ACC Field Hockey Postseason Awards

Become first team to do so since 1994
The No. 1 ranked Syracuse field hockey team swept all-four major ACC awards and placed a league-high six student-athletes on the All-ACC Teams, as voted by the league's seven coaches.
The Orange (16-0) became the first team since North Carolina in 1994 to sweep all-four awards.
Senior midfielder Alma Fenne was named ACC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the team with 33 points and 13 goals. The Amsterdam, Netherlands native has come on strong of late as well, averaging 2.7 points per game since the calendar flipped to October and scoring in eight of her last nine contests.
Senior midfielder Alyssa Manley earned ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors after helping the Orange to the second-best scoring defense nationally this season, allowing just 13 goals in 16 games which is the best mark in the conference. Manley also ranks fifth on the team in scoring with 15 points.
Freshman back Roos Weers earned ACC Rookie of the Year after tying Fenne for the team lead in scoring, netting 33 points and 13 goals as well, while also helping the 'Cuse defense to its high-ranking marks. The Bussum, Netherlands native also recorded four game-winning goals this season.
After leading the Orange to a perfect regular season mark and the first undefeated regular season by any women's program in Syracuse history (10th total), head coach Ange Bradley earned ACC Coach of the Year honors.
In addition to their major awards, Fenne, Weers and Manley highlighted Syracuse's All-ACC selections, with the trio earning first team selections. It's Manley's third All-ACC selection, having earned the award each of Syracuse's years in the league.
The Orange also placed three student-athletes on the All-ACC Second Team as senior goalkeeper Jess Jecko, senior forward Emma Russell and sophomore midfielder Laura Hurff earned the honor.
Jecko leads the ACC in goals against average (0.82) and ranks second in save percentage (780). Starting every game in net this season, she led Syracuse to six shutouts this season.
Russell, a two-time All-ACC honoree, ranks third on the Orange with 22 points and nine goals this season. She became the program's all-time leader in goals scored this season at Yale.
Hurff has started all-16 games in the Orange midfield, posting three goals and two assists.

Syracuse is the top seed in this weekend's ACC Tournament and will square off with the winner of Thursday's quarterfinal between No. 4 Duke and No. 5 Virginia on Friday at 1 p.m. That game will be televised on RSN and ESPN3.
