Uattara Named to Preseason All-ACC Team

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse volleyball rising senior Silvi Uattara has been named to the 2015 Preseason All-ACC Team for the second year in a row. The outside hitter was one of 18 ACC student-athletes selected to the team, voted on by ACC coaches.
This past season, Uattara led the Orange on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. The outside hitter led Syracuse in kills with 392, while also posting a team-high 286 digs.
Uattara holds multiple single-season and match records at SU. In 2013, she set a single-season record for kills with 425, which currently ranks 10th in program history. She also ranks seventh in kills in a single-match with 28, and ranks second in kills in a four-set match with 28.
During the team's inaugural season in the ACC in 2013, Uattara was named Second Team All-ACC and ranked third in the ACC in conference-only matches with 3.92 kills per set.
Syracuse opens the 2015 season on August 28 against Rhode Island at the UConn Invitational. The match is set for 10 a.m.
