SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 10 Syracuse returns home after two straight road matches to host No. 15 Virginia Tech on Friday, Oct. 14. Start time at the SU Soccer Stadium is set for 7 p.m. Admission is free of charge.

ORANGE REWIND
Syracuse will try to snap a three-match winless streak when it takes on Virginia Tech. The Orange are coming off a 1-0 setback at No. 8 Louisville last weekend. Syracuse is now 8-3-1 overall and are tied for third in the ACC Atlantic Division with a 2-2-1 record. The Hokies will be the Orange's third top 20 opponent in their last four matches. Syracuse is 1-2-1 against ranked opponents this season.

SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech enters Friday's match with a 9-2-2 record after playing to a 2-2 draw against Wright State on Tuesday in Blacksburg. The Hokies are in third place in the ACC's Coastal Division with a 2-2-1 league record.

Marcelo Acuna is this week's ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Week. He had nine points in two matches last week. He is Virginia Tech's leader in points (19) and goals (9) this season. Six players have scored two goals this season for the Hokies. Ben Jundgaard has started all 13 matches for Virginia Tech this season. He has a 0.77 goals-against average and a .818 save percentage.

THE SERIES
Friday's match marks the sixth all-time meeting between Syracuse and Virginia Tech. The Hokies own a 4-1 advantage in the series.

The Orange's only victory against Virginia Tech came in 2014, which is the last time the two teams met. Neither team scored in regulation or in the first overtime session. Syracuse recorded the game winner in the 107th minute when Emil Ekblom scored on a header on assists from Oyvind Alseth and Chris Nanco.
