SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 22 Syracuse University women's basketball team will play its second straight contest away from the friendly confines of the Carrier Dome when it takes on NC State on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at Holiday Gymnasium in Raleigh, N.C.

In their last game, the Orange stifled Virginia, 91-57, on Feb. 11. Syracuse erupted for 57 points in the first half, its most points scored in the opening 20 minutes since the 2013-14 campaign. Senior guard Brianna Butler led the way with a season-high 23 points against the Cavaliers.
NC State enters Sunday's contest with a 17-8 overall record and 8-4 mark in conference play. In the latest release of the USA Today Coaches Poll, the Wolfpack were among the teams not ranked in the top 25, but still receiving votes. In its last game, NC State scored a 74-63 victory against Boston College on Feb. 11.
Frontcourt Force
Junior center Briana Day displayed her potential in the final two games of the 2015 calendar year. Day led the club in scoring and rebounding against Drexel on Dec. 29 and Howard on Dec. 30, averaging 23.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per contest. She became the first SU player to score at least 20 points in two straight games since Alexis Peterson did so to end the 2014-15 season.
The junior center had a career night against Drexel on Dec. 29. Day scored a personal-best 26 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the season Day set career-highs in points, field goals made (9), fields goals attempted (14), and free throws made (8).
Day has been climbing the charts in her third season on campus. Currently, the junior center ranks fifth in program history in career blocked shots (176) and 10th in career rebounds (711). She joins Syracuse great Kayla Alexander as the only two players in Orange history with at least 150 blocked shots and 700 rebounds.
The Raleigh, N.C. native shattered the Syracuse single-season rebounding record during the 2014-15 season. Day recorded 322 rebounds on the year, 21 more than Martha Mogish in 1980-81. Mogish also recorded 301 boards in three more games.
Last Time Out
Behind a first half for the ages from senior guard Brianna Butler, Syracuse cruised to a 91-57 victory at Virginia on Feb. 11. Butler was a perfect 6-for-6 from 3-point field goal range in the opening 20 minutes at John Paul Jones Arena.
The King of Prussia, Pa. product scored all of her team-high 23 points in the first half to lead Syracuse to a 57-30 advantage at the half at Virginia. It marked the most points scored by the Orange in an opening half since the team notched a program-record 64 points against Maryland Eastern Shore on Nov. 20, 2013.
Syracuse never looked back, coasting to a 34-point victory on the road. The Orange was 32-for-61 from the field, making 52.5 percent of its field goal attempts. It marked the club's best field goal percentage in a single game during the 2015-16 season.
Four players scored in double-figures for Syracuse in its 12th conference game of the year. The Orange own a 7-0 overall record when at least four players score at least 10 points.
