Orange close out regular season at Marc Deneault Invite

In its final regular season indoor meet of the season, the Orange track and field teams came away with four event victories at Cornell's Marc Deneault Invitational.
Freddie Crittenden III, one of the nation's best in the 60-meter hurdles, won once again on Saturday for the No. 11 ranked Syracuse men, cruising to nearly a two-tenth of a second win over Cornell's Max Hairston. Crittenden crossed the line with a time of 7.80 seconds in the final for the win.
Syracuse also had three other competitors reach the finals in the event. Richard Floyd (8.16 seconds/5th), Chevis Armstead (8.21 seconds/6th) and Powel Deslandes (8.54 seconds/8th) rounded out the four Orange in the finals behind Crittenden.
The women saw Danielle Delgado win the 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.72 seconds, well ahead of next finisher Jasmine Robinson of Cornell (8.86).
Jabari Butler also turned in a win for the Orange, clearing 2.08 meters in the high jump – the only student-athlete in the meet to break the two-meter barrier – to go on to win the event. Randall Johnson (1.99 meters) finished fifth. Johnson later went on to finish 15th in the long jump with a distance of 6.10 meters.
Regine Hunter won the women's triple jump with a distance of 12.10 meters to continue Syracuse's success in the jumps on the afternoon.
The Orange once again led the way in the mile, with five runners placing in the top-10, including four of the top-five. Griff Molino led the way in second, with a time of 4:14.35, and was followed in succession by Juris Silenieks (4:14.80), Joseph Kush (4:15.11) and Simon Smith (4:15.75). Andrew Paladino finished 10th in 4:26.13 to continue the Syracuse pack near the front. Cornell's Chase Silverman's time of 4:13.92 won the event.
The women quickly followed suit, with five of their own in the top-10. Mary Malone led the way in third (5:07.07), with Emily Nist right on her heels in fourth (5:08.54). Fiona Hendry (8th/5:16.04), Bridget Twomey (9th/5:17.04) and Chelsie Pennello (10th/5:21.95) also finished in the top-10.
'Cuse had a pair of runners place in the top-five of the 600-meters. Kokeith Perry finished fourth in 1:26.98, while Sam Somera was right behind in fifth (1:29.63).
SU also had two competitors finish in the top-five on the women's side, with Natalie Zazzarra finishing in fourth (1:44.96) and Nia Gibson in fifth (1:55.38).
Winston Lee took third in the 60-meter dash and was the top-collegiate finisher at the meet, with a time of 6.79 seconds. Lee's time qualifies him for the ECAC/IC4A Championships.
Paul Lovell took fourth in the 400-meters, racing to a time of 51.04 seconds.
Shaina Harrison posted a time of 7.50 seconds in the prelims of the 60-meter dash, making her the top-collegiate qualifier into the finals, however a false start in the final ended her afternoon early.
In the 300-meters, Shasche Allen led three Orange runners into the top-25, with Allen (42.53 seconds) finishing eighth. Maya Perry (20th/46.99 seconds) and Jamie Gross (25th/52.52 seconds) were the other-two competitors.
Syracuse will return to action on Thursday as it heads to the ACC Championships in Boston, Mass.
