Crittenden Takes ACC Title

Freddie Crittenden III won his second-straight ACC hurdles title on Sunday, taking the 110-meter hurdles crown to follow up his indoor championship, highlighting a big final day for the Orange at the ACC Championships.
Crittenden III led three Syracuse runners into the top-six of the event. He crossed the line in 13.58 seconds for the win, with Richard Floyd finishing in fourth (14.05 seconds) and David Gilstrap was right behind in fifth (14.07) to rack up 19 team points for 'Cuse.
The Orange also had numerous podium finishers on the night in addition to Crittenden, with Margo Malone concluding her career in conference meets on the podium for the second time of the meet. Malone finished third in the 5k, with a time of 16:34.14. Her sister Mary Malone also ran in the event, taking 17th in 17:27.46.
Colin Bennie was the top Orange finisher in the men's 5k taking fifth, he finished in 13:56.57, just four seconds off Thomas Curtin who won for Virginia Tech. Philo Germano also turned in a top-10 performance after doubling from the 10k on Friday. He finished 10th in 14:22.06.
In the women's 100-meter dash, Shaina Harrison took second with a time of 11.72, just 0.04 seconds behind Florida State's Shauna Helps. Winston Lee finished seventh in the men's race, with a time of 10.47 seconds.
Syracuse also put two runners in the top-four of the 1500-meters, with Adam Palamar earning third in 3:43.27 and Joel Hubbard right on his heels in 4:43.61.
Regine Hunter earned points in the triple jump, leaping to a distance of 12.39 meters.
The Syracuse men finished ninth in the team scoring with 48 points, while the women took 11th with 33 points.
Syracuse will next take on the NCAA East Prelims in two weeks in Jacksonville, Florida.
