SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse tennis has announced the addition of Miranda Ramirez to the roster for the upcoming spring season.
"We are excited to welcome Miranda to the Syracuse family," head coach Younes Limam said. "She has a great work ethic, positive mindset, and her results speak for themselves. We appreciate Miranda and her family putting their trust in us and we cannot wait to have her on campus."
Ramirez will bring a strong background with her, racking up eight tournament titles during high school playing in ITF Junior competition. Her latest win came in August at the Tournoi International tournament in France. She reached a career-high No. 3 rankings by the Florida USTA, 190 by ITF Junior and 1,110 by the WTA.
"I am excited to compete in a great team environment while at the same time preparing for a business career with a well-rounded education," Ramirez said. "I chose Syracuse because I believe both the academic and the athletic aspects will give me the best preparation possible to be successful on and off the court after graduation."
The Orange tennis team will begin their 2017 season on Jan. 21 at Yale. The first home match will on Feb. 18 against Buffalo at Drumlins Country Club at 11 a.m.
