SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse women's hockey will take on Rochester Institute of Technology this weekend in a home-and-home series. Friday's game will be played in Rochester at the Gene Polisseni Center at 2:05 p.m. Saturday's game will be in Syracuse at Tennity Ice Pavilion and will begin at 3 p.m.

ORANGE COMING INTO THE GAMES
With only two weeks left in the regular season, Syracuse will be looking to secure enough points to receive a first round bye in the College Hockey America tournament. Currently, the Orange sit in second place with 22 points, four points behind first place Robert Morris. 'Cuse has a six-point lead on third-place Penn State.

The Orange are coming off a split weekend with Mercyhurst in their last outing. Syracuse claimed the first game with a 3-0 shutout against the Lakers, but Mercyhurst came back to win the next day, 3-2, with a game-winner in the final minute of the game.

Since the New Year, 12 different Orange members have scored, including six goals from Stephanie Grossi and five from Emily Costales. Allie Munroe and Alysha Burriss have also added four goals each. Grossi leads the team with 23 points (12 goals, 11 assists) this season and is sixth in the CHA. Â

Junior goaltender Abbey Miller has a 1.76 goals against average for the season, the best mark in the CHA. With six shutouts this season, Miller has tied the Syracuse single-season record.

SENIOR DAY
Saturday's home game will be the last regular season game at Tennity this season. It will also be the last home game for the Orange seniors. Syracuse will honor the five-member senior class prior to the game. Morgan Blank, Larissa Martyniuk, Laurence Porlier, Heather Schwarz and Jessica Sibley will all be recognized for their contributions to the Orange program.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
RIT is currently in fifth place in CHA standings, five points behind the fourth place team. The Tigers are coming off a pair of losses to Robert Morris last weekend.

Kendall Cornine, RIT's leading scorer, scored three goals against the Colonials over the course of the two games. Cornine also scored both goals in the matchup between the Orange and the Tigers earlier this season.

Terra Lanteigne and Jenna de Jonge have split time in net for the Tigers this season. Lanteigne has played in 18 games this season and has posted a 2.74 goals against average. de Jonge has played in 13 games and has a 2.95 GAA mark.

SERIES HISTORY
The two programs have met 20 times in series history and the Orange own an 11-7-2 advantage. Both teams have a winning record at home, with Syracuse posting a 7-1-1 record inside Tennity and RIT with a 5-3-1 in Rochester.

Syracuse and RIT squared off earlier in the season with a home-and-home series. The first meeting was in Syracuse and ended in a 2-2 tie. The second game, the Orange claimed a 3-0 win in Rochester.

Five different Orange members scored against the Tigers earlier in the season. Munroe and Kelli Rowswell scored in the tie and Burriss, Grossi and Dakota Derrer scored in the win.
