Offseason Updater: Belle Sand

Hey 'Cuse fans! Syracuse volleyball will be releasing a weekly offseason blog with one entry from each student-athlete. This week marks the sixth installment of our 'Offseason Updater' with an exceprt from junior Belle Sand!
Name: Belle Sand
Postition: Libero
Year: Junior
Major: Economics
Hometown: Mabel, Minnesota
Belle: When it comes to volleyball, I am working hard on building a quicker reaction time and moving through the ball. The offseason is just as important as in season because it gives everyone time to focus and work on our techniques and fine-tune any small details that were overlooked during the season. We have a great coaching staff who are helping us a ton in perfecting our skills. It has been awesome to see how much everyone is improving in such a short amount of time. This offseason is really making me excited to get back on the court with my teammates!
With it being offseason, I have more free time in my schedule, so during the spring semester is usually when I take on a heavier course load. I use my free time to finish up my homework and attend more group meetings with my classmates. I am really enjoying the classes I am taking even though they are challenging.
Aside from school and volleyball, I really enjoy being able to attend other team's sporting events. It is great to go out and support our fellow athletes! I also enjoy being able to spend more time with my friends on the weekends, doing things such as shopping or going to the movies.
