Track Kicks Off Outdoor Campaign

The Syracuse track and field teams got its outdoor slates started at a pair of prestigious meets this weekend, taking on the Stanford Invitational and the Florida Relays.
At Stanford, where the Orange distance crew went, Paige Stoner competed in the top invite selection of the women's 10k, she finished in 33:55.69, which was good for 10th overall to lead the Orange.
In the men's 10,000, Colin Bennie led the way with a 12th place finish in section two, turning in a time of 29:20.56. He was followed by teammates Philo Germano (28:46.47/21st) and Kevin James (31:19.19/30th). Orange alum Martin Hehir also raced in the event, taking fourth in the top-seeded section with a time of 28:08.60.
Madeleine Davison ran to a time of 16:37.94 in the 5k, which was good for sixth in her section of the event. Aidan Tooker represented the 'Cuse men in the event, he placed took eighth in his section, with a time of 14:04.91.
Sydney Leiher placed sixth in her race of the 3000-meter steeplechase, crossing the line in 10:28.50.
At Florida, Freddie Crittenden III took third in a 110-meter hurdles race that featured some of the nation's best competitors. Crittenden posted a time of 13.66 seconds in his outdoor debut.
Youngstown State's Chad Zallow won the event with the fastest time in the U.S. to date of 13.37. Kentucky's Nick Anderson (13.59) took second.
Danielle Delgado raced in the women's 100-meter dash, posting a time of 13.85 seconds.
Winston Lee raced to a time of 10.73 seconds, which earned him 49th overall.
Kadejhia Sellers got off to a fast start in the 400, turning in a time of 54.99 seconds, which was good for 23rd.
???????Dasia Pressley made her outdoor collegiate debut with a time of 11.89 in the 100-meter dash, which was good for 42nd. Fellow freshman Justice Richardson crossed the line in 12.18 seconds.
The Orange are back in action at a pair of meets next weekend. The distance group will take on the Sam Howell Invitational on Friday, while the sprinters will race at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational on Saturday.
