
Orange Tennis Continues ACC Play

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – After beating a ranked opponent last week, the Syracuse women's tennis team will roll on in Atlantic Coast Conference play. The Orange will travel to Virginia Tech for a Thursday afternoon match at 11 a.m. Then, will host No. 14 Duke on Saturday at Drumlins Country Club for Senior Day.
The Orange (7-10, 4-6 ACC) are coming off of a 4-3 win over No. 42 Miami on Sunday and a 5-2 loss to No. 27 NC State on Friday.
Sunday's win was Syracuse's first win over Miami in program history. Victories from partners Gabriela Knutson and Miranda Ramirez as well as Maria Tritou and Nicole Mitchell earned the doubles point for the Orange. Singles wins from Gabriela Knutson, Maria Tritou and Libi Mesh clinched the win for the team. Knutson has now won seven of her last 10 matches. Tritou totals five wins on the season and Mesh has seven.
SCOUTING THE HOKIES
Virginia Tech (9-10, 2-8 ACC) split with Boston College and Pitt last weekend on the road. The Hokies dropped a 5-2 decision to Boston College but bounced back to defeat Pitt, 5-2. Virginia Tech has three members ranked by the ITA. Natalie Novotna is No. 95 and Francesca Fusinato is No. 96 in the singles rankings. Caroline Dexhelet and Fusinato are No. 52 in the doubles rankings.
SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
No. 15 Duke (15-3, 9-0 ACC) is coming off of a 4-3 victory over Notre Dame on Friday and a 5-2 win against Boston College on Sunday. Duke's first doubles pair of Meible Chi and Kaitlyn hold a No. 36 ranking. Four players have earned singles rankings including No. 24 Meible Chi, No. 57 Chalena Scholl, No. 65 Samantha Harris and No. 122 Kaitlyn McCarthy.
