
Tennis Concludes Regular Season on North Carolina Road Swing

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange will conclude regular season play this weekend with matches at No. 30 Wake Forest and No. 3 North Carolina. Syracuse will play in Winston-Salem at 4 p.m. on Friday and will then travel to Chapel Hill for Sunday's 1 p.m. match.
Syracuse (7-12, 4-8 ACC) comes into the matches with a pair of ranked players in Miranda Ramirez and Gabriela Knutson. Ramirez is ranked 77th in singles by the ITA, while Knutson is No. 87. The pair also entered the doubles rankings this week at No. 49.
SCOUTING THE DEMON DEACONS
No. 30 Wake Forest (16-8, 6-6 ACC) is coming off of two conference losses last week. The team fell 7-0 to UNC and 5-2 to Duke. Wake is led by No. 57 Kimmy Guerin who has earned a 22-10 record on the season. Guerin and her doubles partner, Anna Ulyashchenko, post a 14-13 record. Wake's most recent conference wins have come over Louisville and Pittsburgh. The Deacons will finish their regular season on Sunday against Boston College.
SCOUTING THE TAR HEELS
No. 3 North Carolina (24-2, 10-1 ACC) has posted three consecutive 7-0 wins over conference opponents. Five Tar Heels are nationally ranked with two players, No. 2 Haley Carter and No. 8 Sara Daavettila, with spots in the top 10. Carter posts a 30-3 record on the season and Daavettila is 36-6. This week, the team will match up with Duke (Wed. April 19th) and Pittsburgh (Sat. April 22nd) before playing the Orange on Sunday.
ACC TOURNAMENT
The Orange will compete in the ACC Tournament, which will take place from April 26-30. All matches will take place at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. The tournament bracket will be set when regular season matches conclude on Sunday afternoon.
