The Syracuse field hockey team will close out its spring slate on a familiar surface Saturday, when 'Cuse plays host to Cornell, Bucknell and a team of Orange alumni at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
The Orange has previously played in events at Penn State, Penn and Rutgers this spring, with this serving as the first opportunity to host another squad on its home surface.
Games will begin at 11 a.m. and the event is open to the public, free of charge.
Action gets underway with 'Cuse and Cornell in the first game, with Cornell taking on the Orange Alumni at 11:35.
Many familiar faces will represent the alumni team, including Kati Nearhouse, Jordan Page, Lauren Brooks, former assistant coach Mike Young and the program's most recent alums – Regan Spencer, Liz Sack, Serra Degnan and Emma Lamison.
After the alumni's opener, the 2017 Orange will get back to action at 12:10 p.m. against Bucknell. Then, the Orange will square off with the alumni at 12:45 p.m.
Bucknell vs. the Alumni at 1:20 and Cornell vs. Bucknell at 1:55 conclude round-robin play. The teams will then be seeded 1-4 and play in two semifinals, one at 2:40 p.m. another at 3:15. p.m. with the winners playing in the championship at 3:50 p.m. to conclude the tournament.
