Hey 'Cuse fans! Syracuse volleyball will be releasing a weekly offseason blog with one entry from each student-athlete. This week marks the 11th installment of our 'Offseason Updater' with an excerpt from sophomore Annie Bozzo.
Name: Annie Bozzo
Postition: Setter
Year: Sophomore
Major: Inclusive Education in the School of Education
Hometown: Glenshaw, Pa.
Annie: This spring has been jam packed for me! Balancing volleyball, academics in the classroom, and teaching has been hard but so rewarding.
The team has been working really hard this off season and we have been learning a lot every time we get an opportunity to play! We are working on a select set of skills as well as team building this off season. We are looking forward to seeing our hard work pay off this fall!
This semester has been very challenging academically. I have been working harder than I ever have but I am learning so much. With my major being Inclusive Elementary Education, I am teaching four days a week in a local school right across the street from campus. Mostly teaching Math and Social Studies, but with being there all day, I get to try everything! I am in the middle of a three-day lesson on goods and services and my students are doing so well with it! I am loving every second of being in the classroom and teaching. I am starting to feel like an actual teacher and I am still only a junior academically!
While this semester has been challenging in all aspects of my life, I have been learning so much. I have also seen growth in areas of mental toughness, academics, and teaching. While I am going to miss my students and teaching, I am looking forward to closing out this semester strong!
