2017 Fall Schedule
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – With students back on campus and the fall semester underway, the Syracuse women's tennis team is ready to get back on the court for the fall 2017 season. The Orange will take part in various tournaments from September to November.
"Having a quality schedule is necessary to be in the position to achieve our goals," said head coach Younes Limam. "We feel that every player is a step ahead of where they left off last spring, and playing tournaments this fall will keep getting us better."
Syracuse will participate in four individual events hosted by universities across the nation. The Orange will compete in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and the West Point Invitational in September, the Buffalo Invitational in October and the Harvard Invitational in November.
In addition to the university-hosted tournaments, the Orange will send individuals to partake in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Regionals in October, looking to qualify for the ITA All-Americans Championships and the ITA National Fall Championships that take place in October and November, respectively.
The Orange finished the 2016-17 campaign with an 8-14 overall record and a 5-9 mark in conference play. 'Cuse faced Louisville in the first round of the ACC tournament but exited the tournament early after a narrow defeat. The Orange return seven players from last season including preseason nationally ranked junior Gabriela Knutson (38th) and sophomore Miranda Ramirez (59th).
