SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse volleyball senior Santita Ebangwese has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Volleyball Team. A two-time All-ACC Academic honoree, Ebangwese is the Orange's first CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree since 2013.
A Rochester, N.Y. native, Ebangwese is a Bioengineering major who is also enrolled in the university's honors program. Earlier this season, Ebangwese was named a top-10 finalist for the Senior CLASS Award which recognizes student-athletes for notable achievements in community, classroom, character and competition.
The senior middle blocker currently leads the Atlantic Coast Conference and is seventh nationally with a .408 hitting percentage. She set the school single-season hitting percentage record in 2017 (.374) and is on pace to break that mark this season. Ebangwese also ranks second all-time in career hitting percentage (.346) at Syracuse and is among the top 10 in total blocks, block assists and solo blocks. She was a 2017 AVCA East Region All-America Selection, All-ACC First Team and All-ECAC Second Team honoree.
Ebangwese has helped lead Syracuse volleyball to one of its most successful seasons in school history this year. The Orange enter the final stretch of the 2018 season with a 16-7 overall record and 12-3 in the ACC.
Ebangwese advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. Those honorees will be announced in mid-December.
