
Weers and Hoffmann Named NFHCA First Team All-Region

Syracuse, N.Y. – Roos Weers and Carolin Hoffmann were named NFHCA First Team All-Region on Monday monring. Weers becomes the program's fourth three-time First Team All-Region selection in four years while Hoffmann earns her first NFHCA All-Region honor.
Weers, a two-time NFHCA All-American, was named First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference this season becoming the program's first four-time All-ACC selection. She finished her career third in all-time goals (44) and tied for fifth in points (110) this fall. The Bussum, Netherlands, native led Syracuse with 11 goals and 25 points this season helping the Orange to a 8-8 overall record.
Hoffmann led the Orange with six assists and was tied for third on the team in points with eight this season. She had a season-high two assists, including the helper on Weers' overtime game-winning goal, against Pacific on Sept. 21.
Weers and Hoffmann's first team selections mark the 11th-straight year Syracuse has had at least two players named NFHCA All-Region First Team.
All-Region NFHCA First Team selections are now eligible for All-American honors. Next to be announced are the Longstreth/NFHCA Regional Player of the Year awards (November 29) — they will be followed by the Longstreth/NFHCA All-American teams (December 4) and the Longstreth/NFHCA National Collegiate Player of the Year (December 10).
