LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Senior Sammy Fernandez recorded the 207th hit of her career to become Syracuse's all-time base hits leader as the Orange (20-17) defeated Siena (9-17), 6-3, in game one of a doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at Siena Field. 'Cuse held the Saints to one hit and scored six runs in the sixth inning to pull away and win game two 7-0.

Senior AnnaMarie Gatti improved to 6-6 on the season after pitching a complete game. She allowed three runs (one unearned) on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
Fernandez finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and sophomore Toni Martin and freshman Gabby Teran each drove in two runs.
Three walks in the first inning loaded the bases for Syracuse with two outs. Martin hit a two-RBI single up the middle to give the Orange an early lead. Martin and freshman Lailoni Mayfield completed a successful double-steal to tack on an additional run. Siena drove in two runs in the bottom of the frame off a double.
Junior Alicia Hansen walked with one out in the fifth and then Teran hit a two-out, two-run, homerun to give the Orange a 5-2 lead. An unearned run in the bottom half pulled the Saints back within two.
