'Cuse Opens Up 15-Game Homestand Versus Louisville

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse kicks off a stretch of 15 consecutive home games with a three-game series against ACC rival Louisville on Friday, Apr. 13 at Skytop Softball Stadium.
Game one and two: Friday, Apr. 13 at 2 and 4 p.m.
Game three: Saturday, Apr. 14 at 1 p.m.
Friday's doubleheader will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra. Live stats for all three games can be found on cuse.com.
For Starters
- Senior Sammy Fernandez became Syracuse's all-time leader in base hits during a doubleheader sweep of Siena on Wednesday. Fernandez has 209 career hits and 63 multi-hit games, which trails program leader Tanya Rose by one game for the all-time record.
- Junior Bryce Holmgren leads the ACC with a .557 on-base percentage and a .425 batting average.
- Sophomore Alexa Romero leads the ACC and ranks seventh nationally with 10.6 strikeouts per seven innings. She recorded her conference-leading 200th strikeout at Siena on Wednesday.
- Syracuse is 19-2 when scoring three or more runs and 15-1 when producing at least six runs. On the flip side, the Orange are 1-15 when scoring two or fewer runs. 'Cuse is also 17-4 when being the first team to score and 10-3 when scoring in the first inning.
- Junior Alicia Hansen, Fernandez and Holmgren have all started at least 85 consecutive games for the Orange. Hansen enters the game with 97 straight starts and Fernandez and Holmgren have each started 87 in a row. Freshman Gabby Teran is the only other player on the roster to start all 37 games this year.
- The Cardinals lead the all-time series, 9-20, and won the 2017 matchup, 7-4, at OCC.
Scouting the Cardinals
- Louisville enters the weekend with a 26-13 overall record and a 6-6 mark in the ACC. The Cardinals have won three of their last five matchups, including two victories over league rival Virginia on Apr. 6 and 7.
- Megan Hensely leads Louisville with a .382 batting average, with four homeruns, 11 doubles and 32 RBIs. Eight Cardinals are batting over .300 this season.
- Danielle Watson is 13-7 on the season with a team-best of a 2.35 ERA. Hensely also leads the Cardinals with two saves and 100 strikeouts, with Watson close behind at 90.
- Sandy Pearsall is in her 19th season as the head coach of the Cardinals. Pearsall has guided the Cardinals to six conference championships and 13 NCAA regional appearances. Last season, Louisville tallied a 31-19 record, marking the program's 14th consecutive season with 30 or more wins.

Syracuse hosts a doubleheader on Tuesday against Binghamton. First pitch of game one at Skytop Softball Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m.
