'Cuse Hosts Canisius Wednesday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The start time for the doubleheader between Syracuse (16-14) and Canisius has been changed to noon on Wednesday afternoon at Skytop Softball Stadium.

Both games will be broadcasted on ACC Network Extra. Fans can follow the live stats on cuse.com.

For Starters
- Orange head coach Mike Bosch is one win away from eclipsing 600 career victories. Bosch posted a 525-236-2 record at Iowa Lakes Community College and is 74-59 at 'Cuse.

- Sophomore pitcher Alexa Romero struck out a career-high 14 batters in 'Cuse's 4-1 victory over Army West Point on Mar. 28. She leads the ACC and ranks eighth nationally with 10.5 strikeouts per game and her 169 strikeouts rank first and 10th, respectively.

- Junior Bryce Holmgren leads the ACC with a .558 on-base percentage and is second with a .430 batting average.

- Senior Sammy Fernandez is 6 hits away from becoming Syracuse's all-time base hits leader. Fernandez has 30 hits this season and 201 in her career. Tanya Rose is the current leader with 206 base knocks.

- The Orange hold a 16-6 advantage in the all-time series and have won the last six matchups.

Scouting the Golden Griffins
- The Golden Griffins enter the doubleheader with a 3-20 overall record. Canisius has not won since Feb. 24 and is yet to play any conference games.

- Kara Paradowski and Gianna Degaltini each bat .246 and Ashley Barnett has a .245 batting average. Morgan Altman (.233) and Lindsi Dennis (.204) round out the Golden Griffins hitting above .200. Altman has a team-high eight RBIs.

- Erika Mackie has appeared in 15 games with 10 starts and has a 3.15 ERA with 39 strikeouts. Emily Nicosia is 2-6 this season with a 3.34 ERA and 22 strikeouts. Lauren Castro is the only other Canisius pitcher that has started this year and has a 4.27 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched.

- Kim Griffin is in her fourth season as head coach of the Golden Griffins. In her first season at the helm of the softball program, Griffin earned MAAC Coach of the Year honors after helping lead the Blue and Gold to a 26-19 overall record and a 15-5 mark in league play.

On the Orange Horizon
Syracuse travels to Notre Dame for a three-game series with the Fighting Irish. The first game is scheduled for Friday, Apr. 6 at 6 p.m.
