SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The red-hot No. 25 Orange tennis team is headed to the Sunshine State for a pair of Atlantic Coast Conference matchups this weekend. Syracuse kicks off the two-game road trip against No. 19 Florida State on Friday, April 6 with first serve slated for 5 p.m. On Sunday, the Orange head south to square-off with No. 18 Miami at 11 a.m. for the second ranked match of the weekend.
Â
Last Time Out…
Syracuse is coming off its biggest win in program history after defeating No. 3 Georgia Tech, 4-3 on April 1. Junior Gabriela Knutson battled back from a one-set deficit to take sets two and three over No. 22 Paige Hourigan and clinch the match point for the Orange.
Â
Juniors Dina Hegab and Maria Tritou came in clutch at third doubles, coming back from down 5-4 to record a 7-5 victory, giving 'Cuse the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead.
Â
Moving On Up…
With the monumental win on Sunday, the Orange cracked the top 25 in the Oracle/ITA National Rankings, checking in at No. 25. The doubles pair of Knutson and Miranda Ramirez defeated the No. 1 duo in the nation (Hourigan and Kenya Jones), skyrocketing them to No. 12 in the nation in doubles rankings. Knutson dropped one spot to No. 10 in the singles rankings, remaining a fixture among the elite tennis players in the nation.

About This Weekend…
The Seminoles hold a solid middle position in the ACC with a 5-5 conference record and a 12-7 overall mark. Florida State most recently knocked off No. 18 Virginia, 5-2, to carry momentum into Friday's match.
Â
Like the Orange, Miami sits at 6-3 in conference play this season, coming off a tight 4-3 win over No. 19 Wake Forest. The Hurricanes are 2-3 in their last five games but have faced seven consecutive ranked opponents.
Â
Looking Ahead…
