Orange Post Historic Finish in Program of the Year Standings

Another historic season saw the Syracuse men's track and field team record a top-six finish in the USTFCCCA Program of the Year standings, while the Orange women took home 13th – a record performance from the team.
Syracuse is one-of-five programs in the nation to have both its men's and women's programs represented for the award.
The award is determined by combining a team's finish at the NCAA cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field championships to determine overall success of the program. A point is awarded for each place a team finishes at each championship and the program with the lowest score at the end of the year takes the award. Last year's men's team finished fifth, a program record under head coach Chris Fox.
Syracuse has scored in each of the last-four seasons, including three-straight top-seven finishes on the men's side.
The Orange men finished with 37.5 points, nine ahead of Oregon and 20 ahead of Texas, who finished in succession behind 'Cuse, to firmly plant them as a top-six program. Syracuse finished 13th in cross country, tied for 10th in indoor track and 24th at the outdoor championships. Virginia Tech (39 points) is the lone other ACC team represented on the men's side.
The 'Cuse women are tops in the ACC this year, finishing 26th in the cross country championships, 54th in indoor track and field and 34th in outdoor track.
Stanford (15 points) won the Women's Program of the Year, while Alabama (28.5 points) won the Men's Program of the Year.
