The Competition:
- Knight owns by far the nation's best time, racing to a 13:18.74 at the Payton Jordan Invitational, which is one of the 10 fastest times in the history of collegiate track and field.
- Northern Arizona's Andy Trouard has the nation's second-best time to date at 13:21.74.
- Defending NCAA Champion Grant Fisher is also returning, with a seed time of 13:36.77.

- Knight is seeking a triple crown at his fourth straight appearance at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
- He has already won the NCAA Championship in cross country and the indoor 5k this season. He was also runner-up in the 3000-meters. Knight hasn't finished outside the top-three at an NCAA Championship event since 2016, a streak that spans six-straight championship meets.
- Knight also has 11 ACC individual titles and five team titles to compliment his national accolades.
- He's also been on The Bowerman Watch List for every week this season. He's one-of-three athletes to make that claim for the sport's most prestigious award.

- This is Germano's second trip to Eugene and first time racing in the 5k at the NCAA Championships.
- An All-American in cross country as a sophomore, Germano is seeking his first on the track.
- Doubling at the ACC Championships, he turned in a top-10 performance in both the 10k and 5k at the event, to help the Orange finish second as a team – tied for the best finish in program history at any outdoor conference meet.
