
Orange Rout Toronto in Final Test Before Opener

In the final test before Friday's home opener against Vermont, the Syracuse University Field Hockey team routed Toronto 11-0 in a modified game. The two played three 25-minute periods and a 10-minute overtime period at J.S. Coyne Stadium Monday afternoon.

Seniors Caroline Cady and Roos Weers had two goals each while freshman Peyton Kemp added a pair of goals off the Orange bench. Jamie Martin, Claire Webb, Carolin Hoffman, Chiara Gutsche and Kira Wimbert each notched a goal in the win.

Syracuse outshot the Varsity Blues 37-1 and held an 18-3 advantage in penalty corners. Borg van der Velde made the only save Syracuse needed in the second period on a shot by Isabella Watson.
