
Eastwood Scores OT Winner; Orange, RMU Face Off Again Saturday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Redshirt junior defenseman Lindsay Eastwood scored the game-winning goal in overtime, sealing a 3-2 victory over College Hockey America foe Robert Morris (8-11-4, 6-2-1 CHA) for the Syracuse women's hockey team Friday night inside Tennity Ice Pavilion.
The Orange improve to 5-4-0 in CHA play with the win, and their overall record now stands at 5-16-1.

HOW IT WAS DECIDED
Sophomore forward Victoria Klimek worked the puck around the boards to sophomore defenseman Jessica DiGirolamo, who found Eastwood all alone on the blue line. From there, the Orange's co-captain took care of the rest.
Eastwood ripped a slap shot past Robert Morris' goaltender Lauren Bailey with 2:37 left in the overtime period to break the 2-2 deadlock and give the Orange the win.

Eastwood's game-winning tally was her fourth goal of the year. She has scored three of her four goals against conference opponents this year.
DiGirolamo provided the assist - her sixth of the season - on the game-winning goal. She ranks fourth on the Orange in assists (6) and fifth in points (10) this year.
The Orange outshot the Colonials, 33-30, in the game and jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind first-period goals from sophomore forward Emma Polaski and freshman forward Lauren Bellefontaine. It was Polaski's team-high ninth of the year.
Syracuse lost its two-goal lead in the second period, allowing Robert Morris to score twice. Senior goaltender Maddi Welch was spectacular between the pipes, however, recording 28 saves and tallying a .933 save percentage.

The second game of the series with Robert Morris is tomorrow afternoon. The puck drops at 1 p.m. inside Tennity.

Junior forward Kelli Rowswell earned the assist on Bellefontaine's goal. It was her ninth assist of the season.
