SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse will begin the 2019 season ranked in the top 20 in both the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Inside Lacrosse media polls. The Orange are No. 15 in the preseason coaches poll and No. 13 in the media rankings. Both preseason polls were released on Monday, Jan. 29.

Junior attacker Emily Hawryschuk and junior defender Kerry Defliese earned All-ACC and All-Northeast Region honors in 2018. Hawryschuk led the squad in points (61) and goals (53) with career highs in both categories. Defliese tied for second on the team in caused turnovers (15) and ranked third in ground balls (20) and draw controls (42).
