Four Orange were named NFHCA All-Mideast Region on Monday. Charlotte de Vries, Laura Graziosi and Carolin Hoffmann earned first team honors while senior Claire Webb caps off a stellar career in Orange earning all-region accolades for the second time.
De Vries led the Orange with 15 goals and 31 points starting every game as a freshman. The Wayne, Pa., native earned All-ACC First Team honors and tied a program record for freshman goals in a season previously set by Roos Weers in 2015 (14). Graziosi was a staple in the Orange midfield as a sophomore this season. She tallied three goals and three assists for nine points in 19 games. Graziosi scored two game-winning goals, both in overtime wins at J.S. Coyne Stadium against Lafayette and No. 14 Saint Joseph's.Â
Hoffmann earns all-region honors for the second-straight season. She recorded five goals and three assists, including one helper in the NCAA Tournament First Round versus eventual NCAA Runner-Up Princeton. Webb was the anchor in Syracuse's defense this season. After missing the first four games due to a preseason hand injury, she started every game at center back helping the Orange to a 2.28 goals against average in the regular season and a pair of shutouts. She played a key role in 'Cuse posting a 7-0 record in overtime games and three road wins against top-5 teams.Â
This marks the 26th time in program history the Orange have landed three or more athletes on the NFHCA All-Region Team. First team honorees are eligible for NFHCA All-America honors which will be announced before the new year.Â
