SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse field hockey added another highly touted recruit to its already impressive incoming class with Charlotte de Vries. De Vries is ranked as one of the top-10 players in her graduating class by Max Field Hockey and was selected for the USA Field Hockey Junior U-19 squad.
"Char is a current member of the US U-19 team and has led her league the last two years in both scoring and points," head coach Ange Bradley said. "She is an elite player with a very high level of technical and tactical understanding. I expect Char to make an immediate impact on our team. I am pleased to welcome her to our Syracuse family."

De Vries was four-year member of the Conestoga High School that won four-straight Central League Championships, including a District 1A Championship in 2016. As a senior, de Vries tallied 59 goals and 10 assists to finish her high school career with 173 goals and 91 assists. She was a three-time All-Pennsylvania First Team selection and honored as a NFHCA First Team All-American three times.
On an international level, de Vries has been a part of the junior national team system for four years. She first earned a spot on the U-17 team in 2015 and was most recently selected to the U-19 USWNT in 2018. She plays club hockey for the WC Eagles led by Jun Kentwell.
De Vries said that she admires three-time Syracuse All-American Roos Weers the most because of her confidence and leadership on the field.
