
Volleyball Announces the Addition of Woodford

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse volleyball has announced the addition of Lauren Woodford for the upcoming 2019 season. Woodford joins the Orange after graduating a year early from Spring Lake Park High School in Spring Lake Park, Minn.
Woodford, a setter, set school records for single season assists (899) and career assists (2,202). She concluded her high school career with 130 kills, 130 service aces, 93 blocks and 664 digs. A two-time All-Section honoree, Woodford was also named to the 2018 and 2017 NWSC All-Conference team. In 2016 and 2017 Breakdown Spots Media MN Elite named her a top-35 elite underclassmen before earning a top-75 junior spot in 2018.
She played with the Northern Lights club team for five seasons, where Woodford helped them go 75-5 including earning the 2016 AAU 14 Premier National Championship. Woodford was also named to the 14 Premier All-American team.
The Orange look toward the 2019 season following its first NCAA Tournament appearance a year ago. Syracuse's 14 conference wins in 2018 tied the most in program history, helping them to a fourth-place finish in the ACC. The Orange concluded their season with a 19-9 record in the second-round of the NCAA Tournament after a first-round, 3-0, sweep against Yale.
