Syracuse (18-23, 7-8 ACC) is coming off a tough series loss to Duke last weekend followed by a midweek contest at Colgate. The Orange shutout the Blue Devils in the weekend's opening game, 4-0, before Duke took both games of Saturday's double header. In the shutout victory, Alexa Romero pitched her 13th complete game of the season and allowed just one hit. Additionally, Romero has a conference-best 85 strikeouts against ACC opponents this season.

Pitt (7-37, 2-13 ACC) enters the weekend looking to snap a five-game losing streak. The Panthers were swept last weekend by Georgia Tech before being shut out by Kent State, 10-0, earlier this week. Hunter Levesque has led Pitt this season with a .319 batting average and a .639 slugging percentage. The sophomore went 4-for-4 in the final game of the Georgia Tech series with two home runs and three RBIs. Levesque is the only player to start all 44 games this season for Pitt.
