
Duo of Meets Up Next for Distance Runners

The Syracuse men's and women's track and field team return to action this week in two separate meets, with a group heading to Charlottesville for the Virginia Challenge, while another group will head to Princeton, New Jersey for the Larry Ellis Invitational.

- Action begins for both track and field events on Friday, April 19th

- The meet will take place at Lannigan Field at the University of Virginia
- Action will run until 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, April 20
- Rachel Bonner, Laura Dickinson, Olivia Elston, Melissa Lodge, Abigail Spiers, Paige Stoner and Emma Wilson will represent the Orange women.
- This is set to be the first steeplechase weekend for 2018 All-American and NCAA bronze medalist Paige Stoner.
- Iliass Aouani, Noah Beveridge, Joe Dragon, John Flannery, Nathan Henderson, Dominic Hockenbury, Kevin James, Michael Phillips, Stephen Schulz, Matthew Scrape, Simon Smith and Aidan Tooker are set to compete for the men.
- Action begins for field events at 2:00 p.m. and for track events at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, April 19th

- The meet will take place at Weaver Stadium at Princeton University
- The last event is scheduled for 5:55 p.m. on Saturday, April 20th
- The Orange compiled seven top-10 finishes between the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational and the Bison Invitational last weekend
- Richard Floyd finished with a time of 13.98 in the 110-meter hurdles, landing in third place.
- Aidan Tooker led the way at Bucknell for Syracuse, finishing with a time of 3:45.65 in the 1500m. Michael Phillips placed 12th with a time of 3:47.52, Nathan Henderson (3:48.50) finished 15th, Noah Beveridge took 16th and Matthew Scrape was 26th all in the same race.
- Stephen Schultz impressed in his first outdoor meet of his collegiate career, finishing fourth in the 5000m with a time of 14:56.90 at the Bison Invitational. Simon Smith and John Flannery also competed in the 5000m, with Smith placing eighth at 9:10.02 and Flannery 19th with a time of 3:57.69.
- For the SU women, Abigail Spiers placed 17th in the 1500m with a time of 4:28.81, while Aviana Goode took sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best time of 13.97. Alexis Crosby also placed in the top-10 after finishing seventh in the 400m with a  time of 55.03
- In the 400-meters, Kira Wimbert finished 12th and first in her heat with a time of 58.28, while teammate Lily Worden placed 45th and Mariana McManus 52nd.
