Ithaca, N.Y. – The 19th-ranked Syracuse women's rowing team was back in action Sunday winning four out of five races over Cornell and Dartmouth. The Orange have a week to prepare for the final race of the regular season when they take on No. 7 Princeton May 4, in Princeton, N.J.
"The entire squad did a nice job bringing enthusiasm and energy for racing today," first year head coach Luke McGee said. "The B4 set the tone with the first race of the day and the 3V capped it off with an emphatic performance. In all, it was a good day for 'Cuse on the water."
Syracuse's varsity eights swept all three races while the B4 earned an eight-second win over Dartmouth while Cornell was 39 seconds off the lead.
Dartmouth won the varsity four with a time of 7:37.39 while Syracuse finished second in 7:46.68.
"Thanks to Cornell and Dartmouth for allowing us to jump in on the racing at the last minute," McGee added. "It was important for us to line up and continue to learn how to go down the race course with intensity as we approach the championship season."
