SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The 30th-ranked Syracuse women's tennis team will honor its four seniors - Dina Hegab, Gabriela Knutson, Libi Mesh and Maria Tritou - when it takes on No. 27 Miami in the final home match of the season Sunday, April 7. First serve is set for 11 a.m. inside Drumlins Country Club.
Admission and parking are free. The dual will also be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
HONORING THE SENIORS
The Orange will recognize their four seniors with a brief ceremony prior to the match. In their four years at Syracuse, the soon-to-be graduates led the squad to its highest-ever ranking and helped the team advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first two times in program history.
Hegab joined the Century Club earlier this season, becoming the 32nd student-athlete in team history to surpass 100 career wins. She has won a personal-best 36 matches this season and currently has 113 career victories to her name.
Knutson is perhaps the most accomplished student-athlete in program history. She was an All-American in singles and doubles one season ago, earning a spot on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team. Knutson was ranked fifth in the country in singles this past fall, and she moved into second in school history in career wins with 172 earlier this spring.
Mesh has picked up double-digit overall wins in each season of her career. She won a career-high 28 matches last season, and she has continued to play a vital role for the Orange this year, most recently defeating Pitt's Mariona Prerez Noguera in straight sets.
Tritou has posted 26 or more overall wins twice in her four-year career, including a personal-best 28 victories one season ago. She has 83 wins in her career, putting her within striking distance of joining the Century Club before this season is complete
SCOUTING THE ORANGE
Syracuse moved to No. 30 in the latest Oracle/ITA poll, which was released Tuesday, April 2. The Orange were previously ranked No. 28 in the country.Â
Syracuse has won eight of its last 12 dual matches, most recently taking down Pitt, 5-2. Sophomore Sofya Golubovskaya earned her first singles win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season in the victory, defeating  No. 125 Claudia Bartolome in straight sets.
Knutson and junior Miranda Ramirez are Syracuse's lone nationally-ranked competitors. Knutson is No. 20 in the country, rising 20 spots from last week's ranking. Ramirez, meanwhile, jumped up eight spots, claiming the 82nd ranking.
In doubles, Knutson and Ramirez are the Orange's top duo with a 10-8 record at the No. 1 position this spring. They are ranked No. 90 nationally.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
Miami, ranked 27th in the nation, enters the dual with a 13-6 overall record, including a 6-5 mark in conference play.Â
The Hurricanes lost at No. 41 Boston College, 4-3, Friday, snapping a two-match winning streak. Prior to the loss, they defeated No. 14 Wake Forest by the score of 6-1.
Miami has one ranked singles player. Estela Perez-Somarriba, the reigning ACC Player of the Year, is second in the country - the highest position by a Hurricane since 2007.
In doubles, Daevenia Achong and Daniella Roldan are the highest-ranked Miami duo, currently checking in at No. 17. Achong appears twice, as she and Perez-Somarriba are No. 67 on the list.
