STANFORD, CALIF. - The Orange are moving on!
The 31st-ranked Syracuse women's tennis team defeated No. 35 Wisconsin, 4-2, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament Saturday morning at the Taube Family Tennis Center. The Orange advance to the second round of the tournament with the victory and will play reigning national champion No. 3 Stanford (23-1) at 3 p.m. ET tomorrow.

"It was a great team effort," head coach Younes Limam said. "Everyone battled. The ladies played for each other and showed a lot of heart. When we do that, it's extremely difficult for any team to find four points against us."
The first-round victory is the Orange's second in program history, and Syracuse reaches the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history. Syracuse defeated Georgia State, 4-3, in the opening round during its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016 and advanced to the second round.
