Syracuse, N.Y. – Syracuse field hockey fans will have six opportunities to catch the Orange at J.S. Coyne Stadium this fall.
"I am excited to begin our 2019 campaign with some new opponents and re-established in-state rivalries along with the always challenging ACC schedule," head coach Ange Bradley said. "I am looking forward to our team becoming battle-tested road warriors. I am excited that the 2019 schedule provides us the opportunity to learn how to win on the road."
With 11 road games and six opponents that made the NCAA Tournament a season ago, Syracuse has a challenging and competitive schedule lying between itself and a return to the national tournament in late November.
The Orange open the regular season at home with a game against St. Joseph's on Friday, Sept. 13 and host their first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponent a week later when Virginia comes to 'Cuse on Sept. 20. Syracuse hosts a pair of 2018 national semifinalists in defending champion North Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 12, and Wake Forest on Friday, Oct. 25.
A mid-season trip to California highlights a pair of games against Cal (Oct. 4) and Stanford (Oct. 5) before returning home for the bulk of ACC play. The Orange also face former BIG EAST rival UConn (Oct. 20) on the road.
'Cuse plays both Boston College (Oct. 18) and Louisville (Nov. 2) on the road in ACC action with the Cardinals being the last test for Bradley and the Orange before the ACC Tournament begins on Thursday, Nov. 7.
