
Field Hockey Begins 2019 Campaign Ranked No. 18

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Syracuse University field hockey team begins its 2019 campaign on Friday, Aug. 30, at Vermont as the No. 18 team in the country. The 2019 Preseason Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll was released Tuesday with all seven Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) teams in the top-20.
Nine of Syracuse's 2019 opponents are ranked, which includes defending national champion North Carolina (No. 1), Duke (No. 3) and UConn (No. 4) all in the top-5.
The Orange face their first ranked opponent of the season at home on Sept. 13, when 'Cuse hosts No. 17 Saint Joseph's at 6 p.m.
All six Syracuse home games can be watched live on ACC Network Extra (ACCNX) via the WatchESPN App. The Sept. 20 ACC opener against Virginia will be live on the recently launched ACC Network at 4:30 p.m.
Syracuse added eight newcomers, one of the best recruiting classes in recent history, to a young squad that went 8-8 overall last season.
Admission and parking is free for all home games at J. S. Coyne Stadium.
