Syracuse, N.Y. – The 18^th-ranked Syracuse field hockey team beings its 2019 campaign Friday, Aug. 30, on the road at Vermont. The Orange and Catamounts face off at 4 p.m. from Moulton Winder Field and can be watched online via CatamountTV.

Friday marks the fourth-straight season Syracuse opens against an America East opponent for the fourth-straight year and has won 12-consecutive openers. The Orange began 2018 with a 4-1 win over the Catamounts at J.S. Coyne Stadium in the two teams' last meeting. Syracuse leads the all-time series 10-3.

Syracuse welcomes eight newcomers to the squad that finished 8-8 last year and graduated three seniors including three-time NFHCA All-American Roos Weers. Head coach Ange Bradley, now in her 14^th season at the helm, looks to the leadership of seniors Claire Webb and Stephanie Harris as well as 2018 NFCHA All-Region selection Carolin Hoffmann and returning leading scorer Chiara Gutsche.

Following Friday's game, the Orange remain on the road to face UMass Lowell Sunday at 1 p.m. Syracuse hosts its first game of the season at J.S. Coyne Stadium Monday, Sept. 2, at 6 p.m.
