SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse looks to extend its winning streak to five when it hosts Pittsburgh on Saturday, Jan. 25 in the Carrier Dome. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.

The 'Cuse Concert Series continues on Saturday in the backcourt featuring Steve Laureti on the Piano. Fans are encouraged to stay in their seats at the start of halftime for the second annual Baby Race.

ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse defeated Notre Dame, 84-82, in another nail biter against the Fighting Irish. Four players scored in double digits in the win – Joseph Girard III (15), Buddy Boeheim (10), Bourama Sidibe (12), and Elijah Hughes, who led the team with 26 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

The victory improved the Orange's record to 12-7 overall. They are tied for fourth in the ACC standings with a 5-3 league record.

THE AVENGERS
Syracuse has avenged three of its home losses this season with road victories. The Orange lost to Virginia in their home opener, 48-34, but beat the Cavaliers, 63-55, in Charlottesville. Syracuse also suffered back-to-back home losses to Notre Dame and Virginia Tech, but came back and returned the favor a few weeks later on the road. The Orange beat Virginia Tech, 71-69, in Blacksburg and Notre Dame, 84-82, in South Bend. Syracuse is 5-3 in the ACC, including 4-0 on the road, which ties the Orange with Louisville for most road wins in the ACC.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pittsburgh won its second straight game when it defeated Boston College, 74-72, on Wednesday night. The Panthers are now 13-6, including 4-4 in conference play.

Leading the Panthers offense is sophomore Trey McGowens, who averages 13.4 points per game. McGowens is one of four Panthers who average double digits in scoring. The group includes sophomore Xavier Johnson (12.0 ppg), freshman Justin Champagnie (11.4 ppg) and junior Ryan Murphy (10.7 ppg). Johnson leads the team in assists per game with 5.2, which ranks fifth in the ACC.

Pittsburgh's defense ranks second in the ACC with opponents averaging only 61.7 points per game. Junior Terrell Brown is fourth in the ACC in blocked shots (1.9 bpg.), and McGowens is third in the ACC in steals (1.9 spg.).

The two squads faced off in the first round of the 2019 ACC Tournament and Syracuse came away with a 73-59 victory.
