Claire Webb, Chiara Gutsche and Laura Graziosi all represent Syracuse University on this year's All-ACC Academic Field Hockey Team. The trio marks the seventh-straight year the Orange have had multiple honorees.
Â
Webb has provided reliable play in her four years at Syracuse, starting 68 of the 69 games in her career for the Orange. After missing the first four games of the season due to injury, Webb started the remainder of her senior campaign and helped the Orange to their 11th NCAA Tournament appearance in 12 seasons. A senior biology major in the College of Arts & Sciences, it is the third All-ACC Academic Team recognition for Webb.
Â
Gutsche was tied for seventh on the team in points (4) and started 14 of the 19 games she appeared in as a junior in 2019. During her three years at Syracuse, she has recorded 11 goals and 25 points. The Falkensee, Germany-native is majoring in psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Â
After starting in all of the Orange's 16 games in the 2018 season, Graziosi compiled another consistent season for the 'Cuse in 2019. The Dutch-born midfielder started all 19 games and tied for third on the team in both goals (3) and points (9). Graziosi is a mechanical engineering major in the College of Engineering & Computer Science.
Â
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
