SYRACUSE, NY- Syracuse (4-3, 3-2 ACC) is set to take on Duke (2-6, 1-4 ACC) in the first round of the 2020 ACC Field Hockey Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 5 at Karen Shelton Stadium on the campus of UNC in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Orange earned the No. 3 seed while Duke is seeded sixth in the seven-team field. Game time is set for 7 p.m. on ACC Network with Leah Secondo and Eric Frede on the call.

'Cuse enters Thursday's quarterfinal winning four of its last five games and riding a three-game win streak. The Orange and Blue Devils met once during the regular season when Syracuse defeated Duke 4-3 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia Beach, Va.

This is Syracuse's eighth ACC Tournament since joining the league before the 2013 season and the Orange are 5-6 in tournament history with one championship game appearance. It is the second time the two squads will play in the ACC Tournament with Duke winning the previous meeting 4-1 in the 2018 quarterfinals.

A Syracuse win would advance the Orange to Friday's 4 p.m. semifinal match against the winner of the Boston College/North Carolina quarterfinal.

With cancelations due to the COVID-19 pandemic preventing every team from playing its full allotment of regular-season conference games, winning percentages in ACC games were used to determine this year's Championship seeding.

The 2020 ACC Field Hockey Championship will not be open to the public, but ACC Network will carry all tournament action live.
