Emily Streib, a Rüsselsheim, Germany, native and former teammate of current Orange Marie Sommer, will attend Syracuse University and play field hockey for the Orange this fall.
Â
"Emily is an aggressive and highly technical goalkeeper with a very impressive tactical overview," head coach Ange Bradley said. "She is a former teammate of Marie's [Sommer] and we are excited to welcome her to our Syracuse field hockey family."
Streib brings championship pedigree to Syracuse as a member of teams that captured the Outdoor State Championship in three-straight seasons from 2017 to 2019. She was also part of a squad that won the Indoor State Championship in both 2017-18 and 2018-19.
 Â
"I chose Syracuse because it was the school I immediately felt comfortable with," Streib said. "It is where I believe that I will receive the best support to evolve both athletically and academically."
Streib is the fifth player announced in the 2020 signing class that also includes Sienna Pegram, Carly Bothof, Eefke van den Nieuwenhof and Florine van Boetzelaer. The Orange posted a 12-7 record in 2019 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the 11th time in the last 12 seasons.
