
Orange Pick Seventh: Boeheim Earns First-Team ACC Honors

Syracuse has been picked to finish seventh in the Atlantic Coast Conference and senior guard Buddy Boeheim earned preseason first team All-ACC according to an announcement by the league on Oct. 19.
Voting was conducted among media who cover the ACC.
The Orange were place seventh in the 15-team conference, Duke was first, earning 47 first-place votes and 1,132 points. Florida State (14), North Carolina (5), Virginia (5) and Louisville (1) also received first-place votes.
Boeheim was one of five players voted preseason first team All-ACC. The top returning scorer in the Orange lineup, Boeheim averaged 17.8 points per game last season. He excelled in the postseason, posting a 25.0 scoring average and connecting on 25-of-52 3-point shots (.481).
Boeheim was joined by Keve Aluma (Virginia Tech), Paolo Banchero (Duke), Armando Bacot (North Carolina and Isaiah Wong (Miami).

Duke's Banchero was named the preseason player of the year. Boeheim was third in the voting for that award. Banchero was also selected as the preseason freshman of the year.
The Orange host Pace in an exhibition game on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at 7:00 p.m. Syracuse will also pair up with Le Moyne in an exhibition game on Monday, Nov. 1, before opening the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 9 against Lafayette.
