
Shemanova Earns Back-to-Back Academic Honors

Senior outside hitter Polina Shemanova earned 2021-22 Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team honors for the second year in a row. Selected by CoSIDA, the award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
A St. Petersburg, Russia native, Shemanova is a dual major in communications and rhetorical studies, and linguistics. The Student-Athlete Advisory Board member is a three-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree.
Shemanova has started every match for the Orange. She has recorded 394 kills and 338 digs in the 2021 season. Shemanova ranks third in conference with 35 aces. In 2018, She earned AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honors and was the AVCA East Region and Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Freshman of the Year. She is a two-time AVCA All-Region and All-ACC First Team selection.
