RALEIGH, N.C. – The Orange defeated NC State, 3-0, on Wednesday in the Reynolds Coliseum. Junior Marina Markova led the Orange with 21 kills, eight digs and an ace. Sophomore Lauren Hogan recorded 18 digs.

"Everyone gave great effort today," said head coach Leonid Yelin. "Statistically, the numbers might not show it, but everyone out there wanted to win and that helped us get the result we needed. We are on the bubble for the post-season, but for today, we did everything we could to help our case."

The Orange (17-13 overall, 6-12 ACC) opened a 16-12 lead midway through the first set and close out the set with a 25-21 win. The Orange secured set two, 25-19, with a late 9-3 run. Syracuse hung on in the third, trailing until gaining a 24-23 advantage, and came back to take the match with a 29-27 win. Sophomore Izzy Plummer was responsible for two of the last three Orange points to seal the match victory.

Up Next:
The Orange will learn their postseason fate on Sunday, Nov. 28th during the NCAA Tournament selection show that will be televised on ESPNU at 8:30 pm. The tournament field will feature 64 teams, including 32 automatic bids.
