Syracuse struck first when Toni Martin singled down the right field line bringing in Maxine Barnes in the second.
The Blue Devils got their run back and then some in the bottom half of the inning when Francesca Frelick hit a two-run double to give Duke the lead.
They broke things open in the third, tacking on four more headlined by a Kamryn Jackson homer. Calista Almer scored on a passed ball after getting on with a single in the fifth, but that's as close as the Orange would get the rest of the way.
Neli Casares-Maher and Almer both went 2-for-3 on the day, leading 'Cuse at the plate. Casares-Mahar doubled and singled for three total bases on the evening.
Syracuse returns to action Friday at Pitt to continue ACC play.
